We Are Water: A Northeast Celebration with Yo-Yo Ma, Jeremy Dutcher, Mali Obamsawin, and Chris Newell
Hopkins Center for the Arts, 4 East Wheelock Street, Hanover, New Hampshire
This original experience—rooted in wisdom and inspired by a dream for the future—invites us to come together as a community and find hope for a changing planet. Yo-Yo Ma and friends present an evening of songs and stories to ask how the waters of the North — from Kwenitekw (the Connecticut River) to Supeq (the ocean) and Punkik (the Arctic North) — connect us to each other and to our past, present, and future. Inspired by our region and commissioned for the reopening of the Hopkins Center. In collaboration with the Department of Native American and Indigenous Studies, Native American Program, Department of Anthropology, Department of Music, Department of Geography, Sustainability Office and Dartmouth House Communities.
We Are Water Artists: Yo-Yo Ma, Jeremy Dutcher, Mali Obomsawin '18 and Chris Newell '96 with Andri Snaer Magnason and special guests Ida Mae Specker, Lauren Stevens and Roger Paul
